Norman Dean Ayers

Obituary Date: Monday, March 24, 2014
Alexander Funeral Home of Cleveland announces the death of Mr. Norman Dean Ayers of Cleveland. Mr. Ayers passe away Sunday, March 23, 2014. Norman was born in Atlanta, Georgia on January 15, 1938 to the late A. Dewey Ayers and Inez Vandiver Ayers. He lived in Atlanta most of his adult life, retiring from the Atlanta Housing Authority. Norman loved his family, his church and his country, he faithfully served his country in the Army National Guard and was a proud to be an active member of Nacoochee United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, Norman is preceded in death by his brother, Milam Ayers and sister Terrice Toney.
Survivors include his sisters Jacquline Burkhalter of Helen, Myra Pace of Sautee Nacoochee and Jeanette Johnson of Lake Park, GA.; his brother, Jack V. Ayers of Stone Mountain, GA. as well as host of nieces and nephews.
Norman will always be remembered for his for the gift of his smile that always brought joy to others.
Funeral services for Norman are scheduled for 11:00am, Wednesday, March 26, 2014 from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Chris Shurtz officiating.Interment will follow at 3:00 PM at Shadowlawn Cemetery in Lawrenceville.
Flowers will be acknowledged, however it is requested that memorial donations be made to Nacoochee United Methodist Church, Building Fund, 1371 Hwy 17, Sautee Nacoochee, GA. 30571
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6 to 8 pm
