Edwin Grady Vaughn

Mr. Edwin Grady Vaughn, age 92 of 140 Hickory Circle, Toccoa, Georgia passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Cottingham Hospice, Seneca, South Carolina.

A son of the late Jesse and Vera Cook Vaughn, he was born February 6, 1922 in Athens, Georgia having lived in Toccoa, Georgia since 1960. He was a decorated WWII Veteran of the U.S. Navy having served on four aircraft carriers and retired from the U.S. Navy after 20 years of service. He was recognized by the State of Georgia and by the Currahee Military Museum for his military service. He retired with service in home electronics and television. He was a member of the VFW and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Erma Vaughn in 2012.

Survivors include his daughter, Susan Vaughn of Toccoa, Georgia; son and daughter-in-law, David and Juen Vaughn of Toccoa, Georgia; grandchildren, Brittany and Chad Smith, Christie and Dane Robertson, Amy and Alan Glaze; great-grandchildren, Kylee Glaze, Kaleb Glaze, Lucas Smith and Jacob McCollum.

Funeral services will be Friday, April 4, 11 O'clock AM in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with the Reverend Jerrell Beatty officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, David Vaughn, Daniel Carter, Chad Smith,

Alan Glaze, Butch Moody and Gary Vaughn.

The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Thursday from 6 PM to 8 PM.

Interment will be in the Stephens Memorial Gardens with Military Honors by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard.
