Betty Joann Dodd

Mrs. Betty Joann Dodd, age 78 of Gainesville, passed away on April 5, 2014 at Summers Landing Assistant Living following an extended illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, April 7, 2014 at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with internment to follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Brian Malcomb and Garnett Whitmire will officiate. The Family will receive friends on Sunday, April 6, 2014 from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

Mrs. Dodd was born on April 13, 1935 in Lake City, Tennessee to the late Harley and Nola Nelson. She was retired from Milliken. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ira Dodd Jr., and daughter, Sheila Bagwell.

Mrs. Dodd is survived by daughter and son-in-law Debbie and John Nix of Gainesville, son, Kendall Dodd of Gainesville, grandsons and wives, Jason and Cassie Nix, Josh and Michele Bagwell, granddaughter, Julie Bagwell, and grandson, Wesley Dodd, great grandchildren, Zyannah, Kaia, Laila, Ava, Emma, Farah, and Brookley.
