Jewell M. Justus

Mr. Jewell M. Justus, age 87, of Dahlonega, GA died Sunday, April 6, 2014 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, GA following a period of declining health.

Mr. Justus was a native and lifelong resident of Lumpkin County. He retired from Burlington Industries Pinetree Plant in Dahlonega and was a member of Salem Baptist Church in Lumpkin County.

Jewell was the son of the late John and Nannie Ruth Cox Justus and was also preceded in death by brothers, Gene and Lewis Justus; and sister, Lucy Justus.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Dena Lou Grizzle Justus, Dahlonega, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Dean and Carolann Justus, Gainesville, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Lanora and Stanley Hefner, Cleveland, GA; brothers and sister-in-law, John and Sharon Justus, Marietta, GA, Bobby Justus, Acworth, GA; grandchildren, Alison and Ryan Mandell, Blake and Jami Justus; great-grandchildren, Georgia and Kathryn Mandell, and Reese Justus. A number of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Jewell are scheduled for 2 PM Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega.

Rev. Dennis Fortner, Rev. Lyman Caldwell, and Rev. Dave Fortner will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in Lumpkin County.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 from 4 PM until 9 PM.
