Virginia 'Ginger' Lancaster

Ginger Lancaster, 73, of Gainesville, GA, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2014, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a lengthy illness.

She was born February 15, 1941, in Birmingham, AL, the daughter of the late Dr. Charles Lewis and Virginia "Kitty" Campbell Gammill.

Mrs. Lancaster attended high school in Birmingham, AL, and completed her education at Samford University, also in Birmingham where she was a member of the Phi-Mu Society. She was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Gainesville where she also attended Sunday School. Prior to that, she was a member of Dawson Memorial Baptist Church in Birmingham, AL.

She is survived by her husband, Ben H. Lancaster, Jr., of 48 years; daughter and son-in-law, Katie and Mike Gunning of Saint Louis, MO and two grandchildren, Ben and Sarah; son and daughter-in-law, David and Deanna Lancaster of Sugar Hill, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Charles and Sue Gammill of Athens, GA; and brother and sister-in-law, Dr. George and Cyndi Gammill of Birmingham, AL, along with a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at the Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bill Coates officiating. Entombment will follow in Memorial Park Mausoleum.

The Family will receive friends on Monday, April 21, 2014 from 4 - 8 PM at Memorial Park Funeral Home.
