Kayla Marie dela Pena, 21 of Gainesville died Monday April 28, 2014 at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston.

A lifelong resident of Gainesville, Kayla was a graduate of Johnson High School, Class of 2013. She was a member of the Gainesville First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her mother, Joan Bancroft, Gainesville; father, Orlando dela Pena, Houston, TX; maternal grandparents, Dr. Charles and Betty Bancroft, Gainesville; grandmother, Didi dela Pena, Miami, FL; uncle and aunt, Charles Victor Bancroft, II and Cricket Brancroft, Bishop, GA; a number of other relatives and special friends also survive.

Memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday May 1, 2014 at Lakewood Baptist Church Ministry Center. Dr. Tom Smiley, Rev. Don Ormsbee and Blake Orr will officiate. There will be a reception held after the memorial service at Lakewood for a time of Gathering of Family and Friends.

A private family inurnment will be held at the Gainesville First United Methodist Church with Dr. Terry Walton officiating.

The family has asked that flowers please be omitted and that memorial donations please be made to Lakewood Baptist Joy Ministry, 2235 Thompson Bridge Road, Gainesville, Ga. 30501 or Georgia Baptist Childrens Home, 9250 Hutcheson Ferry Road, Palmetto, GA 30268, memo: Camp Hawkins.
