Hubert Harold Thompson, Jr.

Hubert Harold Thompson, Jr., 71, of Tiger, GA, passed away at his residence Monday, April 28, 2014.

He was a lifelong resident of Rabun County and was the son of Hubert Harold Thompson, Sr. and Tessie Mae Parker Thompson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Martha Fay Crunkleton Thompson, a brother, Gene Thompson, and a granddaughter, Lauryn Ramey.


He is survived by a son, Carlos David Thompson (Natasha Welch Thompson) of Tiger, GA; one daughter, Cathy Thompson of Tiger, GA; one brother, Judson Thompson of Toccoa, GA; one sister-in-law, Claudia Thompson of Clayton, GA. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Adelyn Thompson, Logan Thompson, Jackie Lee Buchanan, and Isaac Ramey.

Harold retired from the National Resources Conservation Services and was a very loving and caring person, and especially loved his wonderful grandbabies. He enjoyed fishing and playing the mandolin and guitar. He was a member of several Gospel groups over the years. He served as a Deacon for many years and was the Chairman of Deacons at Liberty Baptist Church where he was a long time member.

The family will receive friends at Beck Funeral Home from 6 PM to 8 PM, Tuesday, April 29, 2014. Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM, Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at Liberty Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Cates and Rev. Alton Dendy officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery.
