Ralph James Carter

Obituary Date: Friday, May 30, 2014
Mr. Ralph James Carter age 89 of Gainesville passed away on Friday May 30, 2014 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a sudden illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, June 2, 2014 at 11:00 am at New Holland Baptist Church with internment to follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Dr. Terry Crawford will officiate. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 1, 2014 from 2-5 pm.
Mr. Carter was born on March 11, 1925 in Homer, Ga to the late Walter Odis Carter and Daisy Miller Carter. He was retired from New Holland Textile Mills and was a member of New Holland Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mae Hutson, and Zelma Chitwood; brothers; Fred Carter, and Otho Carter.

Mr. Carter is survived by his wife of 67 years, Lucille Carter of Gainesville; daughters and son-in-laws, Janice and Ken Russell of Metter, GA, and Joy and Charles Sims of Gainesville; son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Sharon Carter of Gillsville; grandchildren, Rick Russell and wife Kim, Chris Russell, Brittney Maney and husband Casey, Jeff Sims and wife Kristi, Corey Carter, Dustin Carter and wife Ashley, Nolan Carter; great-grandchildren, Madelyn Russell, Addison Maney, Kennedy Maney, and Marley Carter; brother, Roy Carter of Gainesville; and a number of nieces and nephews.
