Ila Allison

Mrs. Ila Allison, age 84, of Chestnut Mountain, Georgia passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Sunday, June 8, 2014 following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 10, 2014 in the Chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home with interment to follow at Memorial Park South Cemetery. Rev. Phil Carpenter will officiate. The family will receive friends 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, June 9, 2014 at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.

Mrs. Allison was born December 20, 1929 in Hall County, Georgia to the late Rev. Oliver and Della Cash Turk. She was a homemaker and member of Oakwood Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Daisy Turk Harris and by siblings who died in infancy: twin sister, Ina Turk; sister, Peggy Sue Turk; and brother, James Harlan Turk.

Mrs. Allison is survived by her devoted husband, Dewell Allison of Chestnut Mountain and sons and daughters-in-law, Ronny and Theresa Allison of Winder, Georgia; Jerry and Rhoda Allison of Chestnut Mountain; and Terry and Dorothy Allison of Chestnut Mountain. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law Harvey and Helen Turk of Winder; grandchildren Derick Allison, Cory Allison, Clint Bryson, Ben Allison, Joanne Allison; great-grandchildren Rachel Fuller, Autumn Powell, and Kylie Allison; and numerous nieces and nephews.
