Edward 'Leon' Flanagan

Edward "Leon" Flanagan, age 69 of Gainesville, entered Heaven on Monday, June 16, 2014 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a sudden illness.


Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, June 19, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Bradley Elliott will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 from 2 - 4 pm and 6 - 8 pm at the funeral home.


Mr. Flanagan was born March 21, 1945 in Gainesville, Georgia to the late Marvin Edward "Pat" Flanagan and Alma Irene Ransom Flanagan. He was of the Baptist Faith. Leon was preceded in death by his parents and three of his sisters, Prissy Evans, Libby Sargent and Sandra Robertson.


Mr. Flanagan is survived by his sisters, Joyce Young of Gainesville, Shirley Mayfield of Gainesville and Judy Franks of Commerce and a number of nieces and nephews.


The family extends a special thank you to his caregiver, Vivian Smith of Atlanta.
