Rebecca June Jackson Stephens

Mrs. Rebecca June Jackson Stephens, age 81, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a sudden illness.


Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Memorial Park North Riverside Chapel. The Reverend Matt Wethington will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior and one hour following the service at the funeral home.


Mrs. Stephens was born March 10, 1933 in Phenix City, Alabama, daughter of the late Foster and Grace (Miller) Jackson.


She was a graduate of Central High School and a life long member of Summerville Baptist Church where she remained active until moving to Gainesville in 2005 to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Robert and Lynn Marascalco.


June loved living in Gainesville and being surrounded by family and friends. She shared her love and kindness and beautiful smile with everyone she met and all who knew her instantly recognized her compassion and sweet spirit of unconditional love and joy in the Lord.

"
My My" as she was known to her family and friends lived at the Oaks at Limestone for the past 5 years. She considered her friends and much of the staff her family and she is remembered by all as "the eternal happy camper".

une was a good and faithful servant of the Lord and she honored and worshipped him throughout her life.


Her gift of spreading love, joy and tenderness to all people will always be her legacy. For the family and friends as well as strangers who were blessed by her example, she will forever remain the sunshine of our hearts and souls.



She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Doyle Compton, Durwood Statham and Roulf Stephens; sister and brother-in-law, Martha and Jack Rodgers; and brother-in-law, Joe Hair; and nephew, David Hair.


She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lynn Marie and Robert Marascalco; grandchildren, Robert Jackson and Rachel Marascalco all of Gainesville; and Ashley Nicole Marascalco of Cleveland; Olivia Grace Marascalco and Robert Thomas Marascalco of Gainesville,Laurie Cudd and Amy Owens both of Gainesville; sister, Merle Hair of Lynn Haven, FL; sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Richard Kemp, Lanette, AL; nieces and nephews. Lifelong friends, Joy Green of Phenix City, AL and Mickey Timbes, of Columbus, GA; special friends, Polly Williams, Mary Hooper, Joy and Opal, all of Gainesville also survive.
