Mr. Eugene Green, 83, of Flowery Branch, GA. passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at his residence.
Born in Buford, Georgia, Mr. Green had lived in Hall County for most of his life. He was the son of the late Raleigh Coleman and Thelma Edmondson Green. Mr. Green was retired from General Motors, where he served as Vice-President of Local 10 union, he also was the owner and operator of Viv's Coveralls and also had worked for United BMW in Duluth. Mr. Green served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a member of the Flowery Branch Lodge #212 F & AM, Georgia Sheriffs Association and the Shriners Knight Templar. Mr. Green was a member and deacon of the First United Methodist Church of Flowery Branch, and he also served as Mayor of Flowery Branch from 1990-1998.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Martha Vivian Green, Flowery Branch; son and daughter-in-law, David W. and Myra Green, Norcross; grandchildren, William Scott Green and Michelle, Green, Atlanta; Brittany Green Strickland and husband, Chris, North Carolina; William Cain Tullis and wife, Christa, Flowery Branch; great granddaughter, Macy Elizabeth Tullis, Flowery Branch.
Mr. Green is preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Pamela Karen Green, aunt and uncle who raised him, Mary Green Davis and husband, Earl.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday June 28, 2014 in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home. Rev. Joey Grizzle will officiate. Interment will be in the Alta Vista Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday June 27, 2014 from 4-8 p.m.
