Betty Ann Brady Duckett

Betty Ann Brady Duckett, age 69, of the Hollingsworth Community in Banks County passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 following an extended illness.

Mrs. Duckett was born on April 12, 1945, in Habersham County, Georgia, the ninth child to the late Ben R. Brady and Ella Farmer Brady Fricks. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Duckett; brothers, Eugene (Buck), James, and Carson Brady. She was a homemaker who really enjoyed gardening and her flowers. Mrs. Duckett was always lending a hand to anyone in need and a very loving mother, grandmother and sister. She was a member of the Hazel Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-laws, Timmy & Michelle Duckett and Phillip & Kim Duckett all of the Hollingsworth Community; five precious grandchildren, Ethan, Brittani, Taylor, Ben and Julie Duckett also of the Hollingsworth Community; sisters, Irene Parker of Orange Park, Fla., Lurlene Hart of Alto, Christine Blair of Mt. Airy, Geraldine (Andrew) Cragg of Starke, FL, Mamie (Ron) Arrendale of Clarkesville; sister-in-law Virginia Brady of Mt. Airy; brother-in-law David Duckett of the Hollingsworth Community; sister-in-law Debbie (Tommy) White of the Rock Springs Community. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and numerous cousins.

The family would also like to offer a special thanks to Hospice of NE Georgia especially Caren Gahring and Ajia Wilson and also special caregivers Geraldine Mason, Dianne Tyra, and Melanie Nelms.

A celebration of Mrs. Duckett's life will be held 11:00 am Friday, June 27, 2014, at Hazel Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Burrell and the Rev. Trent Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Rev. Jason Arrowood officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday June 26, 2014, at the funeral home.
The family is at the residence.
