Claire Elrod Venable

Ivie Funeral Home of Commerce announces services for Mrs. Claire Elrod Venable age 77 of Jefferson who died June 25, 2014 of an extended illness. She was the daughter of the late James Terrell and Ruth Jacks Elrod. She is survived by 3 sons, Steve Douglas Venable of Jefferson, Timothy Alan Venable and Larry Randall Venable both of Athens. One brother Theo Harrison Elrod of Evans, Georgia and 2 sisters Betty Elrod Gibson of Jefferson and Martha Elrod Nelms of Athens, 2 Grandchildren also Survive. Services will be held on Thursday June 26th at 3 PM from the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home Commerce with the Rev. Jesse Mealor officiating. Burial will bein the Ebenezer Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the funeral home from 1-3 PM prior to the service.
