Laura Virginia Hildebrand Shead, 94, of Cleveland, Georgia, passed away Monday, June 30, 2014.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, July 3, 2014 at Memorial Park North Riverside Chapel with interment to follow at Old Providence Baptist Church Cemetery in Sandy Springs, Georgia. Reverend Jack E. Chalmers will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at the funeral home.
Born in the Oak Grove District of Sandy Springs, Georgia on October 11, 1919, the daughter of the late John Calvin Hildebrand and Leila (Barron) Hildebrand, a well know Sandy Springs family. She was employed for many years at Davisons Department Store, now Macy's. She was a charter member of Faith Memorial Assembly of God Church in Atlanta and was a leader in the Children's department. She and her husband, Thomas, resided in Forest Park, Georgia where she remained after his death, later relocating to Gainesville, Georgia. For the past several years she has resided at the Gateway Center in Cleveland, Georgia. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas B. Shead; sister, Sarah Blanche Hildebrand and a brother, Hugh Willard Hildebrand.
