Mattie Jean Jamerson Armour

Mattie Jean Jamerson Armour, age 67, of Alto, passed away Thursday, July 3, 2014, at Emory University Hospital.

Born in Banks County on May 14, 1947, she was a daughter of the late James Dorsey "J.D." Jamerson and Leola Meeks Jamerson. Mrs. Armour was a member and a faithful pastor's wife at Antioch Holiness Church for 34 years and was the church pianist for 30 years. She began playing the piano in church at around age 10. Her testimony was that church was her life. Mrs. Armour was a loving and faithful wife, mother and grandmother.

Survivors include husband of 50 years, Jacob Armour of Alto; sons and daughters-in-law, Tim and Jan Armour of Cornelia, Chuck and Rhonda Armour and Graylen and Amanda Armour all of Alto; grandchildren, Erin (Seth) Roberts of Alto, Emily Armour of Alto, Hunter and Fisher Armour both of Cornelia, Dylan and Levi Armour both of Alto; Reagen and Logan Ferguson whom she loved as her own grandchildren; sisters, Lynda Armour of Lula and Ann Moore of Cleveland; brother and sister-in-law, Jesse and Connie Jamerson of Alto; several nieces and nephews as well as a host of other relatives, friends and church family.

Funeral services will be held 2:30 pm Sunday, July 6, 2014, at Antioch Holiness Church in Lula with Revs. Graylen Armour, Larry Dyer and Jeff Sparkman officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Rev. Marty Smith officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6-9 pm on Friday and from 2-4 and 6-9 pm on Saturday at the funeral home.
