William Terry Stancil

Mr. William Terry Stancil, age 65 of 5881 Oak Valley Road, Toccoa, Georgia passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at the home of his sister.

A son of Frances Cooper Stancil Camp and the late William Russell Stancil, he was born March 17, 1949 in Stephens County, Georgia where he lived most of his life. He was a graduate of Stephens County High School and received an Associates Degree from Truett McConnell College. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War having received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his mother, Frances Cooper Stancil Camp of Toccoa, Georgia; son and daughter-in-law, Grant and Brandy Stancil of Stella, North Carolina; grandson, Tyler Barber; brother, Dale Stancil of Toccoa, Georgia; sister and brother-in-law, Gail and David Fry of Toccoa, Georgia; nieces, Jennifer Fry Costello and Lucinda Miller; nephew, Clint Miller.

Funeral services will be Thursday, July 17, 11 O'clock AM in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with the Reverend David Ritcey and the Reverend Jerrell Beatty officiating.

The family will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. David Fry, 723 E. Tugalo Street, Toccoa and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5 PM to 8 PM.

Flowers are to be omitted. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center, 2150 Limestone Parkway, Suite 222, Gainesville, Georgia 30501 in memory of Mr. William Terry Stancil.

Interment will be in the Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. Acree-Davis Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Mr. William Terry Stancil.
