G. H. Kinney

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. G. H. Kinney, 88, of Jefferson, Ga. who passed away Sunday July 20, 2014.



Mr. Kinney was born in Jackson County, Georgia a son of the late Virgil and Alma Bachelor Kinney. Mr. Kinney was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II at the Battle of the Bulge. Mr. Kinney was a construction superintendant for many years and retired from Vandiver Construction Company. Mr. Kinney was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Jefferson.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Kinney was preceded in death by his wife, Ida Elizabeth Carter Kinney, two brothers, Hubert and Orin Kinney and a sister, Gertrell Guinn.



Funeral Services will be held Saturday July 26, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Reverend Eric Shelton and Dr. Justin Kinney officiating. Interment will follow in Jackson Memorial Park with military honors. Those honored as pallbearers will be Hugh Kinney, Larry Stover, Randy Johnson, Dewey Johnson, Mark Tucker, and Sheldon Taylor. The family will receive friends at Evans Funeral Home on Saturday July 26, 2014 from 12:00 until 2:00 P.M.



Survivors include his children, Diane Roberts of Athens, Georgia, Larry Kinney of Waynesboro, Georgia and Greg Kinney of Hoschton, Georgia, grandchildren Gene Roberts, Jr. Dr. Justin Kinney, Cory Pritchard and Kristen Blais, 5 Great Grandchildren and a number of other relatives.
