Glenn Charles Atkinson

Obituary Date: Sunday, August 3, 2014
SMSgt. Glenn Charles Atkinson (U.S.A.F., Ret.), age 76, of Gainesville passed away Sunday, August 3, 2014. Glenn was born August 8, 1937 in Weston, WV to the late Gay and Hazel Gladys Smith Atkinson. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Senior Master Sergeant and was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church in Gainesville. Glenn also belonged to the VFW, the American Legion and the Masons.



Survivors include his wife, Jean and his special loving family, including Steven and his wife, Jane, Sandra and Kelley; five grandchildren, Adeana, Brittany, Brandi, Kaylee and Olivia; two great grandsons, Carson and Jonathan and one great granddaughter, Parrish. He is also survived by a brother, Steve Atkinson and wife Carol, both of Akron, OH.



Graveside funeral services, with military honors, will be held Tuesday, August 5, at 11:30 A.M. at Georgia National Cemetery with Pastor Larry Patton officiating.



In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Hope United Methodist Church or to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Research Endeavor.
