Beulah Grace Garrett Penland, age 83 of Murrayville passed away August 14, 2014. Mrs. Penland was born in Blairsville, GA on March 26, 1931 to the late Lincoln D. and Martha Seabolt Garrett. Mrs. Penland worked for many years at Lanier Park Hospital in housekeeping before her retirement. She was a faithful member of New Harmony Baptist Church in Blairsville. Mrs. Penland will always be remembered for the love she had for her family, her love of gardening and quilting. She was always willing to help anyone who needed it and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents as well as her brother Rev. Willis Garrett and grandson Caleb Peck. Mrs. Penland is survived by her children, Carole and Jerry Hood, Blairsville, GA; Cathy and Ray Allison, Clermont, GA; Debra Pinion, Murryville, GA; Becky and Ron Brechter, Gainesville, GA; Charles W. Penland Sr.; sisters and brothers in law, Mae Clark, Gainesville, GA; Bessie Brown, Blairsville, GA; Bertha and Joe Powers, Dahlonega, GA; Shirley Carey, Blairsville, GA; Myrtle Collins, Blairsville, GA; Evelyn and Hubert Shook, Blairsville, GA; Vivian and Bo Conley, Blairsville, GA; 10 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, August 15, 2014 from 6 until 8 PM. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at 1 PM. The Revs. Chip Penland and Ken Anderson will officiate, interment will be held at New Harmony Baptist Church in Blairsville, GA.
