Roy Elbert Henderson

Mr. Roy Elbert Henderson, age 61, of Buford, GA passed away on Friday, September 19, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Carrie Henderson; brother, John Gregory; and grandmother, Bessie Moon Oliver. He is survived by his daughter, Ameda Henderson, Lawrenceville, GA; sister, Virginia Kelly, Blue Springs, MO; brothers, Richard Mulwee, Aurora, CO, Delmar Mulwee, Aurora, CO, James Mulwee, Jefferson City, MO, Craig Henderson, Fontana, CA, German Henderson, Dayton, OH, Gary Henderson, St. Louis, MO, and Warren Henderson, St. Louis, MO; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Henderson was born August 25, 1953 in Kansas City, KS. He was a 1971 graduate of Buford High School and graduated from Gainesville Junior College with an associate degree. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was employed with the Lawrenceville Post Office and was a member of Poplar Hill Baptist Church in Buford, GA. Funeral services will be held at on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Poplar Hill Baptist Church, 234 E. Shadburn Avenue, Buford, GA 30518, with Pastor Avery Headd officiating. The body will lie in state beginning at 12:00 noon. Interment, with military honors, will follow at the Old Union Baptist Church cemetery, Buford, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, September 26, 2014 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
