Betty Whiting

Betty Whiting, age 84 of Gainesville, passed away on Friday, September 26, 2014 at her residence following a brief illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Poplar Springs Baptist Church with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend David Matthews and Reverend Bobby Brown will officiate. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 from 6 - 9 pm at the funeral home.

Mrs. Whiting was born February 7, 1930 in Commerce, Georgia to the late Fletcher Moore and Estelle Chandler Moore. She was a homemaker and a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Calvin Whiting and her sister, Doris Morrow.

Mrs. Whiting is survived by her daughter & son-in-law, Pam & Gary Sandberg of Woodstock, Georgia, her sons & daughters-in-law, David & Darbie Whiting of Blythe, Georgia and James & Amy Whiting of Gainesville, grandchildren, Stephen & Inga Sandberg, Fletcher Whiting, Joshua & Danielle Whiting, Abigail Whiting, Gabe Whiting and Andrew Whiting, sister & brother-in-law, Miriam & Ralph Williams of Gainesville, brothers & sisters-in-law, Roger & Shirley Moore of Flowery Branch and Jerry & Shirley Moore of Burnsville, Minnesota and brother-in-law, Ralph Morrow of Gainesville.
