Howard Gilstrap

Mr. Howard Gilstrap, age 93, of Clermont passed away on September 28, 2014 at his residence surrounded by family.

Funeral services will be Tuesday September 30 at 11:00am at the Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home in Clermont and interment following at Bethel United Methodist Church cemetery. The Rev. Brent Gilstrap will officiate. The family will receive friends on Monday September 29. 2014 from 2:00-5:00pm and 6:00-8:00pm

Mr. Gilstrap was born on November 15, 1920 to the late Oscar and Toma Smallwood Gilstrap. He was preceded in death by his late wife Novelle Pitchford Gilstrap and his sisters Fannie Lou Clark of Gainesville GA, Pauline Wheeler of Clermont GA, and Lilie Mae Ward of Akron OH.

Survivors include wife Elizabeth Moore Gilstrap of Clermont, daughter and son in law Gayle and Bobby Barnes of Clermont, son and daughter in law Lynn and Peggy Gilstrap of Clermont, stepdaughter and husband Nan and Louis McDowell of Flowery Branch and stepdaughter Kay Moore of Oakwood. He was blessed by 8 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
