Stephen A. (Steve) Hartley

Stephen A. "Steve" Hartley, 67, of Gainesville, GA. passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2014.

A lifelong resident of Gainesville, Steve was the son of the late Carolyn and James A. "Jim" Hartley. He was retired from RWH Trucking where he had worked as a broker for a number of years. Steve had also been the lead singer for "The Jesters" since 1968. A member of the Elks Club of Gainesville, Steve was a former Exalted Ruler, a position his father also held. Steve was a member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church on Washington Street.

Survivors include his wife, Cathy Brown Hartley, Gainesville; daughter, Stephanie Hartley Gibson and her husband, Tony, Gainesville; step children, Ron and Bonnie-Lynne Wilson, Gainesville; Santo and Ashley Morici, Easton, PA; Laura Wilson, Atlanta; Morgan and Emily House, Gainesville; mother-in-law, Marilyn McCarver, Gainesville; aunt, Evelyn Hancock, Gainesville; cousin, David Hancock, Loganville; sister-in-law, Diane Hartley, Dawsonville.

Steve is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Mike Hartley.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday October 2, 2014 at St. Paul United Methodist Church on Washington Street. Rev. Calvin Haney will officiate. Interment will be in the Alta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Little & Davenport Funeral Home Wednesday October 1, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association or ones favorite charity in memory of Steve.
