Sarah Bagwell Pari

Sarah Bagwell Paris, 98, of Canton, Georgia, recently residing in Franklin, Tennessee passed away Monday, October 13th, 2014. She was the oldest member of New Harmony Baptist Church, Cumming, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Charlie Newton Paris, a Deacon of New Harmony. Also preceding her in death were her parents, John and Emmie Henderson Bagwell; sister, Alice Bagwell Cox; brothers, Ralph Bagwell and Berry Bagwell.

Mrs. Paris was a devoted wife and mother, homemaker and gifted seamstress, always cheerful and loved by everyone who knew her. She was a faithful friend and never met a stranger. She leaves a legacy of love and encouragement to her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughter, Charlene Paris Cochran (Lamar Cochran); grandson, Charles Cochran (Elizabeth Hunter Cochran); granddaughter, Catha Skinner (Jeff Skinner); five great grandchildren, Noah Cochran, Rebekah Skinner, Charlie Skinner, Sarah Skinner, Andrew Skinner. A number of nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 15th from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 16th at New Harmony Baptist Church. Mrs. Paris will lie in state from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Church. Service begins at 11:00 am with Rev. Johnny Purcell and Dr. Shannon Mize officiating. Interment will follow in the Church cemetery.
