Ray Payton Duncan

Obituary Date: Thursday, October 16, 2014
Ray Payton Duncan, age 68 of Flowery Branch, passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, October 19, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Mike Taylor and Reverend J. L. Yopp will officiate. The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 18, 2014 from 2 - 4 pm and 6 - 8 pm at the funeral home.

Mr. Duncan was born November 30, 1945 in Dawsonville, Georgia to the late Payton Thomas Duncan and Lula Bolton Duncan, and was raised by his special sister, Hazel and his late brother-in-law, J. D. Edwards. He was retired from Duncan Exterminating Company and was a member of Pine Crest Baptist Church. Ray was also a former longtime member of Westside Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Ruby Robertson, Nell McRae and Ethel Davis and his brothers, Fred Duncan, James Duncan, Lee Duncan and Johnny Clyde Duncan.

Mr. Duncan is survived by his wife of 50 years, Betty Ladd Duncan of Flowery Branch, his sons & daughters-in-law, Peyton Thomas & Carol Duncan of Hoschton and Joseph Wilburn & Heather Duncan of Flowery Branch, grandson, Payton Andrew Duncan of Flowery Branch, sisters, Hazel Edwards of Montgomery, Alabama, Minnie Davis of Forrest Park, Georgia and Belle Sirmans of Savannah, Georgia, special nephew, Stan Edwards, mother-in-law, Mrs. Azalee Ladd and a number of nieces and other nephews.
