James Marshall Wood

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. James Marshall Wood, age 73 of Martin, Georgia, formerly of Jefferson, Georgia who entered into rest Friday, October 24, 2014.

Mr. Wood was born in Jefferson, Georgia a son of the late James Frank and Reba Huntsinger Wood. Mr. Wood retired as a supervisor from the Textile Industry and loved hunting, fishing and gardening. In addition to his parents, Mr. Wood is preceded by a sister, Kay Underwood.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday October 26, 2014 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Reverend Farrell Wilkins and Reverend David Wilkins officiating. Interment will follow in Woodbine Cemetery in Jefferson, Georgia. Grandsons honored as pallbearers will be James Wood, Jr., Travis Gilliam, David Webb, Christopher Wood, Seth Wood, Cody Gee and Reid Gee. The family will receive friends on Saturday October 25, 2014 from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Berryman Wood of Martin, Georgia, son, James L. Wood and his wife Tammy of Martin, Georgia, daughter, Susan Wood Gee of Martin, Georgia, son, Bryan Thomas Wood of Jefferson, Georgia, brother, Larry Wood of Albany, Georgia, sister, Judy Tate of Jefferson, Georgia, 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and a number of other relatives.
