Barbara Sue Benefield

Barbara Sue (Reed) Benefield, 75, of Gainesville passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at New Horizons Limestone following and extended illness.

Funeral Services are scheduled for Monday, November 17, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with internment to follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Darin Vogt and Reverend Dick Shore will officiate. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 16, 2014 from 1-3 pm and 5-7 pm at the funeral home.

Mrs. Benefield was born on March 16, 1939 in Gainesville to the late Lutheran Reed and Montine Cleghorn Reed. She was a retired from Wachovia as Banker and attended Chicopee Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Sandra Reed Spencer; brother-in-law, Jack Benefield.

Mrs. Benefield is survived by her husband, Johnny M. Benefield of Gainesville; daughter, Sandy Ward Simmons of Canton; brother-in-law, Jim Spencer of Blue Ridge; nephew, Jason Spencer of Atlanta; sister-in-law, Hildred Benefield of Oakwood; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Edgar and Virginia Benefield of Oakwood; brother-in-law, Charles Benefield of Flowery Branch; nephew and wife, Phillip and Jackie Benefield; nephew, Timmy Benefield, niece, Debbie Harper; niece and husband, Melisa and Rodney Thompson; nephew and wife, Scott and Deneen Benefield; nephew, Rodney Benefield; niece, Carol Simpson; and several great nieces and nephews.
