Donald Ray Lawson

Alexander Funeral Home of Cleveland announces the death of Mr. Donald Ray Lawson, age 70 of Cleveland.

Donald passed Thursday, November 20, 2014. Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00pm, Sunday, November 23, 2014 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Levi Skipper, Rev. Dana Young and Rev. Jimmy Ellis officiating.

Donald was born in White County on October 28, 1944 to the late Clyde Lawson and Lucy Bingham Lawson. Donald owned and operated Lawson Paint and Body, which he founded in 1981 and ran until 1994. In 1995 he began his career with Estes Express Line, where he would serve until his retirement in 2012. Donald was always willing to assist anyone and lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He will always be remembered for his kind heart and giving spirit. Donald was a member of Christian Hill Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. In addition to his parents, Donald is preceded in death by his brothers, Clyde Lawson and Verdell Lawson. Survivors include his wife, Patricia 'Patsy" Copp Lawson, Cleveland; Donald Lawson Jr. (Sherry), Cleveland; daughters, Terry McCune (Tim), Cleveland, Tammy Howard, Phoenix, AR.; grandchildren,Joshua Howard ( Maggie), Justin Howard, Cody McCune(Jennifer), Courtney McCune, Jacey Lawson and Abbey Lawson.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 5 to 8pm. Flowers will be acknowledged, however memorial donations are requested to Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center , 2150 Limestone Parkway, Gainesville, GA 30501
