Evelyn Greenwood Cheek

Mrs. Evelyn Greenwood Cheek, age 74, of Lawrenceville, GA passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents, G. C. and Zannie Greenwood, Lawrenceville, GA; brother, Alvin Greenwood, and sister, Mae Ashby, both of Auburn, GA. She is survived by her husband of fifty-seven years, Billy Ray Cheek, Lawrenceville, GA; children, Danny Cheek, and Stephanie "Pinkie" Cheek, both of Lawrenceville, GA; brother-in-law, James Cheek, Bethlehem, GA; sisters-in-law, Pearl Cheek, AL, and Dee Greenwood, WV; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Cheek was born July 28, 1940 in Franklin, North Carolina. She was a homemaker and member of Antioch Baptist Church, Buford, GA. Mrs. Cheek has been cremated and a memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 23, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church, 3878 Braselton Highway, Buford, GA 30518 with Rev. Mike Landress officiating. Interment will follow at a later date at East Shadowlawn Memorial Gardens, 87 Scenic Highway, Lawrenceville, GA 30046. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Antioch Baptist Church cemetery fund. The Cheek family would like to express its sincere thanks to the members and staff of Amedisys Home Health Care and Amedisys Hospice Care for their genuine tender loving care, especially Mrs. Nardia. She is an angel sent from heaven.
