Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Peter Mekosh, age 96, of Hoschton, Georgia, who passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at home. Mr. Mekosh was born in Centralia, Pennsylvania, a son to the late Michael and Anna Fago Mekosh. Mr. Mekosh was retired from Merck Pharmaceuticals, where he worked in maintenance operations. Mr. Mekosh was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard and a member of St. Anne's Ukrainian Catholic Church. His daughter, Joanna, lovingly cared for Mr. Mekosh for 11 years along with her husband, Ben and their two daughters, Lorinda and Rosanna Cruz. In addition to his parents, Mr. Mekosh was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Victoria Lach Mekosh, son, Gregory Mekosh and daughter, Patricia Mekosh.
Survivors include his daughters, Joanna Cruz, of Hoschton, GA, Gloria Lachman, of Sellersville, PA, Victoria Rosenbaum, of Nicholson, GA, Donna Allen of Middleburg, FL, son, Peter Mekosh Jr., of Jackson, NJ; 10 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at 11:00am at St. Anne's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Warrington, PA. The burial will follow in St. John Neumann Cemetery in Chalfont, PA. The visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 from 9:30-11:00am in St. Anne's Ukrainian Catholic Church, prior to the service.
