Rebecca Elaine Thurmond

Rebecca Elaine Thurmond, 89, of Cumming, GA., passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Northside Forsyth Hospital following a period of declining health.

Born in Parrott GA on September 13, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Ecter and Leone Chambless Davis.

Mrs. Thurmond was retired from the U.S. Postal Service having worked as an accountant. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Atlanta and had lived in Cumming, GA. for the past 17 years.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Margaret Kesler and brother, James E. Davis.

Mrs. Thurmond is survived by her son, Leslie B. Thurmond of Cumming; brothers and sisters in law, T. Richard and Jimmie Davis of Gainesville, Durward and June Davis of Clearwater, FL and a number of nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 20, 2015 in the chapel of Little Davenport Funeral Home. Dr. Bill Coates will officiate. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until the service hour on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Little Davenport Funeral Home.
