Capt. James M. Thorn, Sr

Capt. James M. Thorn, Sr., 77, of Gainesville passed away Sunday January 25, 2015.

Born August 28, 1937 in Sikeston, Missouri to the late John Monroe and Sadie Marie Thorn, he had lived in Hall County for the past 10 years having moved from Cumming. He retired as Captain with the Roswell Police Department with over 30 years of service. Capt. Thorn was also preceded in death by his brothers, Waylon Thorn and Johnny Thorn.

Surviving are his sons, James M. Thorn, Jr., Dawsonville, Eric M. Thorn, Houston, TX; grandchildren, Timothy Mitchell Thorn, Dana Katelyn Midori Thorn.

Memorial services will be held Friday January 30, 2015 at 4 o'clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jim Burgess will officiate.

The family will receive friends Friday beginning at 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
