Rufus Franklin 'R.F.' Cain

Rufus Franklin "R.F." Cain, age 82, of Dahlonega, GA passed away Thursday, January 29, 2015.

He was a lifelong resident of Lumpkin County and retired from Mohawk Industries Pine Tree Plant in Dahlonega. He enjoyed Bluegrass music and was a self-taught musician of many stringed instruments. He loved many other hobbies including metal detecting, and was of the Baptist faith.

R.F. was the son of the late John and Ella Cain, and was also preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Cain; granddaughter, Hailey Hampel; brothers, Arnold Cain and Glen Baliles; and sisters, Willionell Grizzle and Juanita Davis.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Gracie Ruth Cain, Dahlonega, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy and Paul Hampel, Dahlonega, GA, Shannon and Marty Hughes, Blairsville, GA, and Melissa and Robert Rowe, Dahlonega, GA. 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and a number of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for R.F. are scheduled for 2 PM Sunday, February 1, 2015 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega, GA.

Interment will follow in the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Lumpkin County.

Brian Payne will officiate.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega from 5 PM until 9 PM on Saturday, January 31, 2015, and from 9 AM until service time on Sunday, February 1, 2015.
