Wilhelmina Cown Fowler

Mrs. Wilhelmina Cown Fowler, age 98 of 499 Valley Road, Toccoa, Georgia passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at the Oaks at Limestone, Gainesville, Georgia.

A daughter of the late Golden Carl and Lula Langley Cown, she was born November 3, 1916 in Loganville, Georgia having lived in Atlanta for a number of years and most of her life in Toccoa. She attended Young Harris College and Georgia State College, retired from the Stephens County School System, a member of the D.A.R. and the Toccoa First Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel H. Fowler, Sr. in 2009.

Survivors include two daughters, Rachel Fowler Haynes of Davidson, North Carolina and Jennifer Fowler Howell of Toccoa; four sons, Samuel H. Fowler, Jr. of Catharpin, Virginia, Timothy West Fowler of Davidson, North Carolina, John Cown Fowler of Fountain Inn, South Carolina and Chris Fowler of Gainesville, Georgia; fourteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; three sisters, Patricia Burnham of Macon, Georgia, Anne Henderson of Midlothian, Virginia and Miki Barrow of Florida.

Graveside service will be Saturday, February 7, 2 O'clock PM at Bass Cemetery in Devereux, Georgia with The Reverend Rachel Haynes officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Tamassee DAR School, P.O. Box 8, Tamassee, South Carolina 29686 or the charity of one's choice.

Interment will be in the Bass Cemetery, Devereux, Georgia with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Wilhelmina Cown Fowler.
