Walter P. Addison, Jr

Walter P. Addison, Jr., age 74 of Gainesville, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at his residence following an extended illness.


Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, February 8, 2015 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Robert Washington will officiate. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 7, 2015 from 6 - 9 pm at the funeral home.


Mr. Addison was born January 12, 1941 in Pitts, Georgia to the late Walter Addison and Celia Watson Addison. He served nine years in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War and was of the Baptist Faith. Walter was employed with the City of Gainesville, Water Department for a number of years and later retired from Phillips Correctional Center.

Mr. Addison is survived by his wife, Sharon Addison of Gainesville, daughter & son-in-law, Tina & Bruce Glover of Gainesville, granddaughters, Kerri and Chelsea Glover of Gainesville, sisters, Diane Gearin of Gainesville and Vera Handley of Warner Robins, Georgia and his brother, Dan Addison of Gainesville.
