James Harlen Wilson

James Harlen Wilson, age 80, of Alto, Georgia passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2015.



Mr. Wilson was born on September 16, 1934 in Hall County, Georgia to the late Bill and Mary Lou Smith Wilson. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Herbert and Harvey Wilson; sister, Shirley Wilson. Mr. Wilson was a graduate of Lula High School and was a volunteer with Faded Footprints for 30 years. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Wilson was a retired technician with Milliken Textile Mill with 54 years of service. He loved all sports, working outdoors, tinkering in the barn and walking his dogs.



Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Pearl Wilson, Alto, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Van Holcombe, Lula, GA; daughter, Penny Hawkins, Alto, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Rhonda Wilson, Blairsville, GA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Charlotte and J. T. Parson, Alto, GA, Ruth and Alvis Smith, Alto, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Harris and Joyce Wilson, Alto, GA, Lloyd and Janice Wilson, Alto, GA; grandchildren and their spouses, Kenny and Caprise Wilson, Christy and Marty Abernathy; great-grandchildren, Edie Wilson, Taylor Abernathy, Matthew Abernathy.



Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia with Rev. Ricky Elrod and Rev. Loyd Martin officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens.



Faded Footprints of Families and Friends will serve as honorary pallbearers and are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 1:30 pm on Wednesday.



The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm on Tuesday, February 10, 2015.
