Dr. Rick Hinton

Dr. Rick Hinton, age 61, of Gainesville, Ga., passed away Monday, February 16, 2015.

Rick was born August 16, 1953, in Duluth, Ga., to James Patillo Hinton and Jean Deaton Hinton.

Rick grew up in Lawrenceville, Ga., and attended Berkmar High School in Lilburn, Ga.

In 1984, Rick graduated from the University Of Georgia School Of Veterinary Medicine. Founder of Northeast Georgia Veterinary Services, he practiced equine medicine in the north Georgia area for over 30 years.

Rick is survived by his wife, Jeanne Arnold Hinton, son Blake Hinton, sister and brother-in-law Kathy and Gary Maner, niece Jennifer Dobbs and nephew Curtis Maner, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Diane and Mark Sowerbutts, and nieces Mackenzie and Leah Sowerbutts.

A memorial service will be held Friday, February 20, 2015 at 11 am at Antioch Methodist Church in Gainesville, Ga. Preceding the service, the family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall, 9 to 11 am.
