Ruth Dill Alexander

Ruth Dill Alexander, age 86, of Mt. Airy, Georgia passed away on Friday, February 20, 2015 following a sudden illness.

Mrs. Alexander was born on August 13, 1928 in Habersham County, Georgia to the late Andrew and Emmie Gibby Dill. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Crawford Alexander; daughters, Deborah Wilbanks and Linda Bair; grandson, Corey Bair; sisters, Frances Dill and Grace Clark; brothers, Robert Dill and James Dill. Mrs. Alexander was a member of Welcome Home Baptist Church. She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Eddie Ferguson, Mt. Airy, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Kerry and Shawn Alexander, Lawrenceville, GA; sons-in-law, Donnie Bair, Orangeburg, SC, and Donald Wilbanks, Cornelia, GA; sisters, Wilma Dill, Mt. Airy, GA, and Blanche Dill, Mt. Airy, GA; brother, Lewis Dill, Mt. Airy, GA; grandchildren, Lindsey Welborn, Lisa Eller, Kellie Blue, Tina Jordan, Kristen McEntire, Caitlin Corley, Travis Wilbanks, and Kristin "Kiki" Norris; ten great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm on Monday, February 23, 2015 at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia with Rev. Billy Burrell officiating. Interment will follow in Welcome Home Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Larry Ryals officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4-8 pm on Sunday, February 22, 2015.
