Martha Jo Simmons

Martha Jo Simmons, 85, of Alto, passed away on Friday, February 20, 2015 at New Horizons Lanier Park following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with internment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend David McCoy will officiate. The family will receive friends on Monday. February 23, 2015 from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
Mrs. Simmons was born on July 6, 1930 in Toccoa, GA to the late Hubert Simmons and Mae Irene Pritchett. She was retired from Holiday Inn where she worked as a house keeper and was of Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, James Allen May, daughter, Jackie Fay May.
Mrs. Simmons is survived by her daughter, Brenda Mayes Colunga of Alto; sons, Bobby Joe May of Alabama, Bill (Tammi) May of Alabama, George May of Gainesville; 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; sisters, Ida Simmons of Gainesville and Glady Brent of Gainesville; brother, Junior Simmons of Toccoa.
