Willene Buffington Ramey

Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday March 5, 2015 at Lebanon United Methodist Church for Willene Ramey, 81 of Gainesville. Rev. Marshall Dale will officiate. Mrs. Ramey will lie in state at the church from 1:30 p.m. till service time. Interment will follow in church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Ramey went to be with the Lord on Monday March 2, 2015, at Emory University Hospital with her family at her side after an extended illness.

A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Mrs. Ramey was a native of Hall county and was a lifelong member of Lebanon United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years LeRoy Ramey; sons, Wendell Ramey, Wilfred Ramey and LeRoy Ramey, Jr.; parents, Joe and Ruth Buffington; and brother, Joe Buffington, Jr.

She is survived by son and daughter in law, Wayne and Linda Ramey, Gillsville; daughters and sons in laws, Wanda (Ramey) and Donald Williams, Gillsville, Wendy (Ramey) and Chris Looney, Gillsville; daughters in law, Debbie Reed Ramey and Patricia Ann Ramey, both of Gainesville; sisters and brothers in law, Virginia and Jack Watson, Gillsville, Margaret and Boyd Butler, Gainesville, Janice Yonce, Gillsville, Syble and Lynn Cooper, Flowery Branch; five grandchildren; nine great granchildren; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
