Charles Alfred Hughes, age 90 of Murrayville, Georgia, passed away Thursday, March 5, 2015.
He was born April 17, 1924 in Niles, Ohio. He was a member of the Greatest generation. He honorably served in the United States Navy during Warld War II in both the European and South Pacific theaters, as a part of the CB 108th Naval Construction Battery.
He is survived by his wife, Mary, his son, Bud, and daughter-in-law, Jan, his daughter, Charlene Ashley; and son-in-law, Charles Ashley as well as grandsons, Aaron and Jesse Hughes; Charles and Eric Ashley. He was blessed with seven great-grandchildren, Caroline and Charles Edward Ashley, III; Kristen, Emily and Jacob Hughes; and Payne and Peri Hughes.
A memorial service will be held at Memorial Park North Riverside Chapel on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at 12:30 pm.
