Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Roy Bobby Looney, age 74 of Jefferson, Georgia who entered into rest Tuesday, March 10, 2015. Mr. Looney was born in Jefferson, Georgia the son of the late Robert Bobby Looney and the late Emma Shannon Looney, was a retired carpenter with the University of Georgia and was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, Mr. Looney is preceded by his wife, Linda "Poochie" Howington Looney.
Survivors include Daughters; Angie Looney Burgess and her husband Perry of Jefferson, Dora Looney Jarrard and her husband Wayne of Jefferson, Son; Jeffrey Roy Looney and his wife Tracie of Jefferson. Sisters; Helen Anderson of Atlanta, Alice Jackson and Peggy Hix of Jefferson and a brother; Troy Daniel Looney of Jefferson. Ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, March 12, 2015 from the Bethany United Methodist Church with Reverend Johnny Ray and Reverend Charles Reese officiating with cremation to follow the service. Gentlemen honored as pallbearers are Jesse Looney, Jeremiah Dills, Josiah Burgess, Jordan Jarrard, Jentzen Jarrard and Jonathan Gary. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 6-8 P.M. Wednesday, March 11, 2015.
