Bernice Corn Ivey

Obituary Date: Saturday, March 14, 2015
Bernice Corn Ivey, age 83, a native and lifelong resident of Forsyth County, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2015. She was a member of Coal Mountain Baptist Church. Bernice graduated from Cumming High School where she played basketball. She loved to cook and was an excellent seamstress. Bernice was a retired teller from the Forsyth County Bank. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Eula Corn; brothers, George, Weldon, Amon and Pierce Corn; sisters-law-law; Bobbie Corn, Kate Corn, Dean Corn, and Lillian Ivey; brothers-in-law, Braskin (Rabbit) Ivey, Emmett (Pete) Ivey, Frank Cornell.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Lendon (Duffy) Ivey of Cumming; children, James (Becky) Ivey of Cumming, Jack (Lisa) Ivey of Cumming; grandchildren, Russ and Alan Ivey; brother, Ernest Corn of Cumming; sisters-in-law, Doris Corn and Hazel Corn both of Cumming, Gladys Cornell of Gainesville, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Eugene (Bud) and Marie Ivey of Gainesville; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 16th at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Bennett and Rev. Ruel Martin officiating. Interment will follow in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Sunday from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and Monday from 11:00 am until hour of the service.
