Mary Ruth Steil Merritt

Memorial services for Mary Ruth Steil Merritt, age 80, of Demorest will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 11:00 AM from the Clarkesville First Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Lisa Graves officiating.

Mrs. Merritt passed away Monday, March 16, 2015.

Born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on April 1, 1934, Mrs. Merritt was the daughter of the late Frank N. and Ethel Shannon Steil. She was a floral designer and the owner and operator of Mary's Flowers & Gifts. She was a member of the Clarkesville First Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Merritt is preceded in death by her first husband Obhie Robinson, Jr., and daughter Mary Sharon "Shannon" Gunn.

Survivors include husband John H. Merritt of Demorest, and sons and daughters in law Obhie S. Robinson, III and wife Susan of Cumming, Nick Robinson and wife Kathy of Marietta, and William "Turk" Robinson and wife Eddie of Clarkesville.
