Doris M. Childress, age 90 of Buford, GA died Wednesday, March 17, 2015 after an extended illness. Mrs. Childers has been cremated and a Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 4:00 PM at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel. Doris was preceded in death by her Husband, of 65 years, Loas H. Childress and Son, Tommy W. Childress. She is survived by her Children, Doraine Gargis, Buford, Lonnie W. Childress, Smithfield, VA, David L. Childress Clintwood, VA. Grandchildren, Sherrie Childress Davis, Lonnie Childress, Jr., Kevin Childress, Keith Childress, Kimberly Childress Carroll, Brett Childress, Tammi Goggin Stewart, Brian Goggin, Elizabeth Childress. 17 Great Grandchildren. Mrs. Childress was born in Mayodan, NC on June 20, 1924 and lived most of her life in Hampton, VA. She moved to Georgia in 2009 to be near her daughter. She was a member of Credit Women of VA., Vice President of Childress Service Center and a member of the Assembly of God in Hampton, VA.
