T. Leroy Whiting

Mr. T. Leroy Whiting, 87 of Flowery Branch died Sunday March 22, 2015 at his residence.

A lifelong resident of Hall County, Mr. Whiting was the son of the late E. Parks and Jean Evans Whiting. Mr. Whiting was retired from Country Charm Egg Distributors where he worked as an accountant for a number of years. He was a member, deacon and Sunday School Teacher at Flat Creek Baptist Church. A veteran of the Korean War, Mr. Whiting was a 2nd Class Petty Officer in the United States Navy. A graduate of Gainesville High School class of 1947 and was also a graduate of Piedmont College in 1951. Mr. Whiting is a member of the Industrial League Baseball Hall of Fame where he played baseball with New Holland.

Survivors include his wife, Jean McKinzey Whiting, Flowery Branch; daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and Mike Wofford, Gainesville; Gale and Garry English, Flowery Branch; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Cathy Whiting, Pendergrass; grandchildren, Andrew English, David English, Daniel English, Lilly Wofford, Ashton Whiting, Jesse Whiting and Eli Whiting; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Roberta and James Scroggs, Oakwood; Mary Sue and Neil Whitmire, Gainesville.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday March 25, 2015 at the Flat Creek Baptist Church. Rev. Mike Taylor will officiate. Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends at Little & Davenport Funeral Home Tuesday March 24, 2015 from 1-3 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers that family has asked that memorial contributions be made to Flat Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, 5504 Flat Creek Road, Gainesville, Ga. 30504 in memory of Mr. Whiting.
