Ruby Brock Burrell

Ruby Brock Burrell, age 84, of Cornelia, Georgia passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2015.

Mrs. Burrell was born on June 11, 1930 in Habersham County, Georgia to the late John B. and Grace Smith Brock. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clay Burrell. Mrs. Burrell was a member of First Baptist Church of Cornelia and Pioneer Telephone Club. She was a retired Disbursements Manager for Standard Telephone Company with 50 years and One Day of Service. The Ruby Brock Burrell Telephone Museum was named in her honor. Mrs. Burrell liked reading, walking on the beach, traveling, cooking and she loved taking care of her grandchildren. She loved music.

Survivors include her son and daughter in law, Clayton and Jeannie Burrell, Cornelia, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Leroy and Nancy Brock, Monroe, GA; grandchildren, Stashia and Jake Cheek, Jonathan Burrell, Dylan Burrell, Brittany Burrell, and James Burrell; great-grandchildren, Jacob and Joel Cheek.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m.,Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin with Rev. Billy Burrell and Miss. Brittany Burrell officiating. Interment will follow in Level Grove Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at the funeral home.
