Barbara Lynn 'Babs' Stewart Carter

Barbara Lynn "Babs" Stewart Carter, 59, of Cleveland, GA passed away on March 28, 2015 peacefully at her home. Babs, a self-described Army Brat, called numerous places home over her 59 years finally settling with her husband of 33 loving years in Cleveland, GA in 1997. Babs' dream after early retirement as a COBOL programmer, courtesy of her 20 year deal with her husband, was to play in the dirt and take care of their furbabies, which she was able to do full time since 2002.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harold A. Stewart, USA, Ret., and maternal grandparents Arthur and Bessie Smith.

Babs is survived by her husband, Mike Carter of Cleveland, GA; mother, Betty Stewart of Winston-Salem, NC, sister, Carol Kay of Bradenton, FL; brother and sister-in-law, David & Lillie Ann Stewart of Winston-Salem, NC; nieces and nephews, Kevin Philpot (Laurie) of Bradenton, FL, Kimberly Kay Minnick (Brandon) of Melbourne, FL; Samantha Stewart (special friend Mike McClusky) of Winston-Salem, NC, Adam Stewart (special friend Cara Mossman of Lexington, NC; great niece and nephew, Cadence and Noah Philpot of Bradenton, FL; and many other friends and family.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2015, location and time will be announced later via Facebook, email and phone calls.
