Maxie Nell Poore Keith

Maxie Nell Poore Keith age 88 of Dahlonega, passed away on April 6, 2015.  Mrs. Keith was a native of Lumpkin County and a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church.  She was a part of the St. Paul Goodwill Circle.  She loved to sew and spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

Maxie ran the Keith grocery, Hosery Mill, and Cornet Carpet.  She was referred to as the “Lunchroom Granny” at Sardis Elementary School and most recently spent her days as a homemaker.

Mrs. Keith is preceeded by her parents, Garland Alfred Poore and Lillie Mae Parks Poore, her husband of 47 years, Millard Lloyd Keith, siblings; Craig Poore, Ray Poore, and Gloria Kemp.

Mrs. Keith is survived by her son Gary Keith of Dahlonega, grandchildren Kevin and Amanda Abernathy of Dahlonega, Carl and Diane Andreasen of Dahlonega; great-grandchildren Ava & Hudson Abernathy and Walker and Laura Andreasen, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family also survive.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday April 8, 2015 at 2pm at the Chapel of Dahlonega Funeral Home.  Internment will follow at St. Paul united Methodist Church.  Rev. David Bost and Rev. Carl Andreasen will officiate.  Family will receive friends on Tuesday April 7, 2015 from 2-4pm and from 5-9pm.

In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to the St. Paul United Methodist Church building fund.
